Colorado based Women Writing the West has awarded We Make a Tiny Herd the prestigious Willa Literary Award for Poetry. Judged by professional librarians, Lucy Griffith accepted the award on October 17 at the annual conference held virtually. The judges comments:

“Excellent application of theme. A unique western woman’s experience. The strong voice of the author as well as the quiet, enchanting portrayal of this mysterious woman, La Reina, in well-versed poetry was very moving.”

“Eye catching front graphics and title that will capture the attention of the bookstore browsers. Inside the covers, Griffith treats her readers to a ride through Far West Texas with fresh, sensory poetry.”
